The American Wu Shu Society for the Advancement of Wu Shu is a Not-for-profit 501(c)3 Charitable Organization. The AWS mission is to implement Wu Shu into the Public School Curriculum. Through this discipline we will encourage youth to achieve their highest level of performance in both Academics and becoming positive and productive individuals in society.

Our dream is to find a location we can call home. To open a national training center in New York City. A warehouse location big enough to teach the art, have guest coaches come from all over the world to instruct and raise the level of athletes here in the USA for local, national and international competitions. Local students can attend classes 5 days a week. High ceilings of 20 feet where we can perform weapon forms with 100% effort. Our official training size space is 26' x 45' of carpeted floor. For Sanshou and Sanda training we will need the International Wu Shu Federation and Chinese Wu Shu Association commissioned lei tai stage which is 24' x 24' (7.3 m) and 2 feet (0.61 m) high. The surrounding safety mats are 6 feet (1.8 m) long and 1-foot (0.30 m) thick.

Since 2002 the donations and funds we raise help to run the office of the AWS and run a Youth Wu Shu program for kids of the five boroughs of New York City ages 5-15 years of age. It is a donation based program to help pay the space rental to conduct the classes. To run the office of the AWS means: printing, T-shirts made, office supplies, postal stamps, high speed modem, software, upgrading hardware, color printer yearly maintenance, business phone line, business mobile, office furniture and technology when needed, website domain and hosting yearly fees, insurance (liability) for the students, gymnastic mats, safety equipment ( head gear, gloves, chest protectors, shin guards, punch mitts and kicking pads), miscellaneous expenses, and corporate tax yearly filing. The instructors: AWS President and Wu Shu Grandmaster Edward Aguirre and his family are volunteers (no salaries taken) who conduct all classes.

We welcome Corporate Sponsors, Private donations, and Philanthropists to give to this charitable organization. We will provide a tax certificate if requested.

After your donation, with your approval your company logo linked to you website can be listed on this page to allow others to see who is supporting the AWS. This may also bring you business from people who may have a need for the services you provide. This will create a family network.

We are a Registered Member of GUIDESTAR - A National Database for Non Profit Organizations.
